WHAT DID THE MESSIAH DO FOR US?

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 53:3

Jesus…endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Christ Jesus…who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grapsed, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, [and] being made in human likeness…he humbled himself and became obedient to death––even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Philippians 2:5-11

Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions––it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-6

[Before he died] Jesus…looked toward heaven and prayed [to God the Father]: "…I pray for those who will believe in me. …Father, …you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us. …I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you…have loved them even as you have love me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am , and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

John 17:1, 20-24

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

1 Peter 2:9-10

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blemeless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.

Ephesians 1:3-5

You are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household. …In him [Christ] you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Ephesians 2:19, 22

I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power…to graps how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge––that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19

We are all included – if we have faith:

Rejoice, O Gentiles [non-Jews], with his people.

Romans 15:10

Rejoice, O nations, with his people.

Deuteronomy 32:43

You are fully included!

This was God's plan from the beginning.

Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him all you peoples.

Romans 15:11

Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, (and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord).

Psalm 117:1-2

The Root of Jesse [Messiah] will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him.

Romans 15:12

1.  He [Christ] suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Hebrews 2:9

By dying on the cross, Christ died in our place and took the punishment of death that we deserve.

2.  He [Christ] himself bore our sins in his body on the tree [the cross].

SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

Believe and Repent.

They must turn to God in repentance [for their sins] and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 20:21

The jailer…asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.” …Then immediately he and all his family were baptized. …He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God–he and his whole family.

We are given only 2 options!

Whoever believes in [Jesus] the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.

John 3:36

What is God's heart toward you?

The Lord...is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

II Peter 3:9

"As surely as I live," declares the Sovereign Lord, "I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live [eternally]. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die [eternally]?"

Ezekiel 33:11

The Spirit…say[s], “Come!” …Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of  [eternal] life. [Option #2!]
